The
objective of worksite occupational rehabilitation (WSOR) is
to progressively improve the individual’s ability to return
to their workplace. The individual is re introduced to the
work environment following a targeted functional assessment
where their safe abilities have been identified. The
Occupational Therapist works with the the individual worker
, the employer and the rehabilitation team in order to
establish a return to work plan in
keeping within the individual’s ability level .
The goal
of the return to work program is to maintain the worker in
their work environment and perform job tasks within their
present or gradually improved capabilities.
Worksite
Occupational Rehabilitation is designed and monitored on an
ongoing basis by the Occupational Therapist until the worker
has plateaued or has successfully returned to performing all
their job tasks in a productive manner. Areas of concern
such as physical capacities, psychomotor skills, physical
skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, work
habits, productivity, knowledge of safe work practices and
other work-related skills are addressed.
