It is critical
that people can safely maneuver in, out of and within their homes.
Occupational Therapists are trained to provide recommendations to
improve accessibility in the home environment. Occupational
Therapists can also work with Architects in designing the home to
ensure accessibility features are included in the design and the
design is ultimately suitable for the individuals specific
wheelchair or accessibility requirements. Often a number of options
are presented keeping in mind possible financial constraints.
